Why I Couldn’t Have Started My New Year Better Than This: New Years Eve In Reykjavik

January 11, 2018.Reading time 9 minutes.

Habitually, I enjoy imitating a small hibernating bear throughout the festive season. I’ll book those few days linking Christmas with New Years off on annual leave, create a nest for myself on the sofa, unashamedly veg-out in the same set of PJ’s, chow down triple the recommended dose of camembert and steadily sup away through […]

Girl on bench with spotty playsuit in Berlin

Hello, I’m Michaela

Hey there, thanks for dropping in on my corner of the web! Charmed!

So, me? That’s me up there hanging out in Berlin!

When I’m not living out my days in front of a PC screen at my office job in Manchester, you’ll find me exploring the streets of Europe on a flashpacker budget, indulging in the best European street food or craft beer bar or finding the best things to do in a new city. I put together compact travel guides from everywhere I travel to, so you can follow my itineraries or seek out my favourite spots!

There’s me, plus one (the husband) and a half (Pablo the miniature dachshund) who also likes to come along for the ride when we are on a dog friendly holiday.

Psst! I’m also PR Friendly, so drop me an email if you’d like to work together! I’ve been to over 30 countries in the world and I’m not stopping anytime soon…

I got super snap happy in Venice. I don't think I've ever been anywhere where even the back streets are stunning! ➡️ swipe for more.
Name a more photogenic location. I'll wait. 💁‍♀️ . . Venice felt like walking right into a painting. I got this iconic shot, and turned around and the bridge of sighs was right there! 😍😍😍
Venice! 💜 . . Throwing back to a VERY quick weekend in Venice. Pretty much expected to hate it... too many people, overpriced? Wasn't expecting to love everything about the city. Isn't it just perfect?
➡️ Swipe for the bluest damn water you'll ever see. 💙🌊🌍 I couldn't believe the colour! But then again, I grew up with my nearest beach being Skegness... I rarely take a 'beachy' holiday, and now Im wondering why I don't head to the sea more often...
Obsessively photographing buildings. Zante Town had some cute pastel coloured apartment blocks! Why be grey when you could be orange or purple?
When life doesn't need a filter. 🌍
The best idea we had was to hire a car in Zante. Sure, the roads were a little hairy in places and there were next to no signs or any phone signal to speak of. BUT, our car took us to places like this... the secret, not ao secret bay of Porto Limnionas. Yes, I did go for a swim! 🏊‍♀️🌊
💙💙💙 What a picture to start off the week with! My feed is going to get a whole lot bluer. Zante was absolutely a destination I didn't think I would go to. Its all partying... and I'm too old for that! But actually, Zante is a beautiful island with amazing beaches, and sea turtles and fantastic food and gorgeous tavernas. This view took my breath away!
❣ Bucket list destination alert! Giants Causeway eh? For such a small place, Northern Ireland has SO much to see! I loved the entire drive along the Causeway Coastal Route, but this was a highlight, for sure!
